Privacy Policy

1. Who We Are

CLAP! ("CLAP!", "we", "us") is a music social network that connects music fans with independent artists. CLAP! is operated by Santiago Ramos, a private individual based in Argentina (no registered legal entity), who is the data controller for this Service. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, who processes it, how long we keep it, and how you can request deletion of your data.

2. Data We Collect

  • Account data: your email address and display name, collected when you register an account.
  • Connected social presences: if you sign in or connect accounts using OAuth (for example, Sign in with Meta or Sign in with Google), we receive the identifier, display name, and email address associated with that provider account.
  • User content: content you choose to publish on CLAP!, such as artist profiles, tracks, posts, claps (appreciation signals), and messages.
  • Technical data: standard logs generated when you use the service (for example, device and browser type, IP address, timestamps) needed to operate and secure the platform.

3. Purposes of Processing

We process your personal data to:

  • Create and manage your CLAP! account and authenticate you (including via OAuth sign-in).
  • Provide the core social features: profiles, feeds, claps, chat, and artist analytics.
  • Send service-related communications (account, security, and support messages).
  • Detect abuse, prevent fraud, and keep the community safe.
  • Comply with applicable legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal data.

4. Third-Party Processors

  • Firebase / Google Cloud: we use Firebase (a Google Cloud service) for authentication, database, storage, and hosting. Google processes data on our behalf as a service provider.
  • Meta and Google as OAuth providers: when you use Sign in with Meta or Sign in with Google, those providers process your authentication data under their own privacy policies.

5. Data Retention

We keep your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we must retain limited data longer to comply with legal obligations or resolve disputes (for example, fraud prevention records).

6. Your Rights

You have the following rights over your personal data:

  • Access: request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Rectification: request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Portability: request a machine-readable copy of the data you provided to us.
  • Objection: object to our processing of your personal data.
  • Complaint: lodge a complaint with a competent data protection authority if you believe your rights have been infringed.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at the address below. To request deletion of your account and data, see our Data Deletion page.

7. Google API Services User Data Policy — Limited Use

CLAP!'s use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy (including the Limited Use requirements). Google user data obtained through OAuth (for example, YouTube channel metadata used to verify account ownership) is used only to provide the Service's account-verification features, is not sold, and is not used for advertising or for training generalized AI/ML models.

8. Governing Law

This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of Argentina, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer-protection rights you may have under your local law.
